Structural Health Monitoring

At the request of PAVASAL, Calsens has carried out the structural monitoring of the Puente de las Flores during the lifting of the deck using hydraulic jacks. This intervention was necessary to replace the left abutment support devices, damaged as a result of the fire that occurred in that area of the bridge.
The crawling operation, designed and supervised by ICEV engineering, was carried out on April 2023.
The monitoring carried out by Calsens has made it possible to control in real time the correct behavior of the structure during the process.
Calsens has used fiber optic sensors for this job, measuring strains in the steel and concrete of the deck and piles, as well as the vertical displacements of the deck.
At the end of the works Calsens executed a load test.
