Design and manufacture of optical sensors of high temperature (up to 1200º C)

 

CALSENS optical sensor of high temperature equals electric thermocouples, with the advantage of the technology of the optic fiber (life expectancy, stability, immunity to electromagnetic interferences, little weight and diameter, possibility of multiplexing of sensors in one cable. The FBG receives a regenerating process (RFBG), patent pending, which allows measurement of temperatures up to 1200 º C The sensor packaging offers stability in harsh environments, and also corrosion and mechanical resistance.

Calibration and behaviour of CALSENS optical sensor for high temperature. Calibration has been done with a Carbolite furnace.

CALSENS offers two types of optical sensors of high temperature. One for temperatures up to 800º C, and another for temperatures up to 1200ºC. The length of the sensor in both designs can vary up to 1 metre. The design of the sensor allows it to be embedded in different materials such as concrete, steel or composite materials (carbon or glass fibers).
